CCTV News:In the autumn season, there is a scene of bumper harvest everywhere. Recently, more than 40,000 mu of sweet potatoes planted in Yixian County, Baoding City, Hebei Province have entered the harvest period, and the growth is gratifying. The villagers are busy sorting and packing.
Headquarters reporter Li Xinyu:I am now located in the 2000-mu sweet potato planting base in Shanghuanghao Village, Baima Township, Yixian County, Hebei Province. Through the picture, we can see that the sweet potato planting here is very distinctive. Because of the landform characteristics of the local mountains and hills, a terraced sweet potato planting mode has been formed here. This year, the yield per mu of sweet potato planting is about 5000 Jin.
The sweet potato I am holding now is a kind of sweet potato planted by villagers in Shanghuanghao Village on a large scale. It has a very nice name called Hongyao. It is characterized by purple skin and yellow soil, and its taste is very soft, waxy and sweet. People of my size can be steamed and roasted, and those bigger or smaller than it will be processed into starch and vermicelli.
In recent years, in the adjustment of agricultural structure in Yixian County, farmers have been actively guided to develop sweet potato cultivation. Relying on the technological advantages of Hebei Academy of Agricultural Sciences and other universities, the base has driven farmers to plant, achieving industrial scale development. The 100 mu sweet potato field in front of me is planted by drip irrigation and plastic film, which realizes the integrated management of water and fertilizer, saving both water and labor.
At the same time, Yixian also actively develops deep processing of sweet potato, and continuously develops a series of products such as sweet potato starch and vermicelli. The industrial chain of sweet potato is further extended, forming a one-stop process of harvesting, transportation, storage and post-processing.
